Eliminates battery-related service calls

Keeps batteries maintained between rentals

Innovation that benefits customers

Extra power for both truck cab and refrigeration unit

Challenge

As a rental provider, RG Hyr’s vehicles change hands often and can sit at the depot between rentals. Refrigeration units that won’t start due to battery problems mean unnecessary service calls. Vehicles also need regular connection to maintenance chargers while they wait between rentals to stay ready.

Solution

RG Hyr is equipping its rental trucks with solar. One example: a new Mercedes Actros ProCabin, built for the Nordic High Capacity Transport (HCT) combination, is fitted with a Green Energy 285 Wp Solar System. An extension set powers both the 24V truck cab and the 12V trailer circuit from a single installation.

Built for Rental Fleets

For a rental provider, solar means fewer callouts about refrigeration units that won’t start, and no need to connect vehicles to maintenance chargers while they wait between rentals – even parked for a couple of weeks at a time. That’s all added upside for RG Hyr’s own customers.

Explore more of the benefits of CIGS Solar Panels

The CIGS solar panel is often recognised on its slim profile, its flexibility and its low weight. CIGS solar panels are better than conventional solar panels in almost every aspect, when it comes to sustainability efforts and especially durability.
