Challenge
Battery failures and high idling were causing unnecessary fuel consumption and maintenance costs. Drivers needed longer auxiliary runtime for comfort systems during rest periods.
Solution
160 Wp solar systems installed on tractors and trailers by the company’s in-house workshop.
Outcome
Drivers can now run air conditioning, heating, refrigerators and entertainment for significantly longer without draining the battery. Schröer plans to install solar on all vehicles.
