About the Pilot

Ten trucks are being tested across Sweden from Luleå to Skåne: 240 Wp systems on 4 HVO and 4 LBG trucks, and 320 Wp systems on 2 LBG trucks. Both Scania and Volvo models are included, with real-time monitoring via Fleet Tracker.

Why Solar on Alternative Fuels

DHL has already cut emissions through electrification and biofuels. This pilot tests whether solar can deliver additional efficiency gains on cleaner fuel platforms — building on proven results from diesel fleets.

What We Expect

The pilot will measure fuel efficiency, energy production and operational reliability across Sweden’s varied climate over 12 months.
This is the first known test of solar technology on alternative fuel trucks.
