Hear Robert Gieselback from C. Vreugdenhil explain how solar energy has solved their problems

In the busy transport and logistics sector, efficiency and reliability are paramount. But for C. Vreugdenhil, frequent battery failures in trucks posed a significant challenge. With starter batteries dying within a year, downtime was all too common. Seeking a solution, the company set out to test alternative options with eight trucks.

Solar panels were the answer

Under the leadership of Robert Gieselback, Fleet Manager, C. Vreugdenhil explored options to improve fleet performance. After extensive testing, a promising solution emerged: solar energy. The installation of solar panels provided a sustainable and reliable energy source that effectively solved the ongoing battery problems.

Improved efficiency, savings and comfort

The results were transformative. With reduced battery wear, C. Vreugdenhil witnessed a significant improvement in operational efficiency. Drivers experienced increased comfort as less idling at night improved working conditions. In addition, the company saw tangible cost and CO2 savings through lower fuel consumption, which was a direct result of the reduced idle time.

Reflecting on the journey, Gieselback said: “In the past, we struggled with frequent battery failures that caused disruptions to our operations. Since implementing Green Energy’s solution, not only have these issues been eliminated, but our drivers enjoy increased comfort and we have observed significant fuel savings.”

Expanding the solar-equipped fleet

Following this success, C. Vreugdenhil has geared up and equipped 10 new trucks and 10 refrigerated trailers with solar solutions.
