Van den Broek Logistics tested monocrystalline solar panels but CIGS solar panels were the solution to their battery problems
Van den Broek Logistics faced significant challenges with the 12v batteries in their reefer trailers. When these trailers remained idle for a few days, the batteries often died, leading to operational delays and increased workloads for the team. Despite testing monocrystalline solar panels, they found that these panels lost efficiency quickly, failing to provide a reliable solution.
Finding a reliable solution
Wim Hoefs, the Fleet Manager at Van den Broek Logistics, knew they needed a more dependable alternative to keep their trailers running smoothly. They consulted with VDL, who advised them to choose our solar solution, which would provide a consistently efficient and reliable power supply.
“The 12v battery issues were causing a lot of headaches,” Wim Hoefs explained. “We needed a solution that would keep our batteries charged and reduce the frequency of jump starts and replacements.”
Immediate Improvements
With the installation of our solar solution, Van den Broek Logistics saw immediate improvements. The reefer trailer batteries remained charged even after several days of inactivity, significantly reducing the need for jump starts and battery replacements. This not only improved the efficiency of their work, but also minimised downtime, allowing the team to focus on delivering exceptional service to their customers.
“The difference has been remarkable,” Hoefs continued. “Our operations are more efficient, and the reliability of the solar panels has exceeded our expectations.”
The success of Van den Broek Logistics with our solar solution highlights the importance of choosing the right technology. By addressing the battery issues with reliable and efficient solar panels, they have ensured a smoother, more efficient logistics operation.
